As part of the Boilers Road Pipelaying Project previously announced, Water Authority– Cayman advises customers and motorists of an additional planned water service interruption and traffic disruption along Walkers Road and surrounding roads, George Town, on Sunday, 13 September 2026. This work involves installing a 12" x 12" tee connection on Walkers Road, which will connect to the new 12" pipeline currently being installed along Boilers Road. Similar work to install a connection took place on Seafarers Road and surrounding roads on 30 August 2026. To facilitate the installation, water service will be interrupted from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Customers along the following roads will be affected: • A section of Walkers Road, from the intersection with Keturah Street to the intersection with Goring Avenue • The southern section of Boilers Road, connecting to Walkers Road • All customers along Keturah Street, including the Executive Suite building • All customers on Newport Avenue and Gwent Way Traffic disruption will also occur at the intersection of Walkers Road and Boilers Road between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM on Sunday, 13 September 2026. During the works, residents and motorists travelling in both directions along Walkers Road will be diverted into a single lane. Traffic controllers will be on site to manage the flow of traffic, and Water Authority staff will be operating heavy equipment in the area. Motorists are advised to drive carefully and slowly and to follow all traffic signs. The Water Authority apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks customers, residents and motorists for their patience and cooperation as we work to improve water infrastructure in the area.

Water Authority–Cayman wishes to advise the motoring public that it will undertake the second and final stage of planned wastewater infrastructure works along West Bay Road in the vicinity of Governor’s Beach (phase one took place in July). The works are expected to take place within the period from 31 August to 15 September 2026, between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM along West Bay Road, between the Lime Tree Bay Avenue/West Bay Road intersection and just south of The Pinnacle condominiums. To enable the works, a portion of the southbound lane of West Bay Road will be diverted to the center turning lane. Traffic control measures will be placed to direct traffic flow. Motorists are strongly encouraged to follow all traffic signs and to drive with caution while in the area. In addition, a portion of the sidewalk in the work zone will be closed to pedestrians. Signage will be in place to divert foot traffic. We encourage pedestrians to be mindful and proceed with caution when walking in the area. The Water Authority apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks the public for its patience and cooperation as we work to complete these essential wastewater infrastructure improvements. The legal daily limit for possessing conch during the open season is five per person or 10 per boat each day, whichever is less. Only queen conch (Strombus gigas, Lobatus gigas) may be taken and no person may take – or permit another person to take, purchase, receive, offer for sale or possess – more than five conchs from Cayman waters. The legal daily limit for possession of whelks during the open season is two-and-a-half gallons in the shell or two-and-a-half pounds of processed whelks per person, per day. No one may purchase or receive more than two-and-a-half gallons in the shell or two-and-a-half pounds of processed whelks from Cayman for each day. Chitons, periwinkles and bleeding teeth may not be taken. Echinoderms (starfish, sea eggs/urchins, sea cucumbers and sand dollars) may not be taken. Department of Environment [DoE] Manager John Bothwell urged residents not to support poachers and individuals taking, purchasing or possessing more than the legal limits. “Don’t buy conch or whelk from people, even during the open season, if they are taking over the legal limit,” he said. “Taking over the limit is illegal and those who are caught will be prosecuted.” Members of the public are also reminded that Cayman’s annual lobster season does not open until 1 December. Individuals may come across lobsters while conching or whelking, but it is still closed season for lobsters which may be reproducing. Anyone caught possessing locally-caught lobster out of season will also be prosecuted. If anyone sees, or becomes aware of, suspected poaching activity, or suspects someone is purchasing more than the legal daily limits of locally caught conch or whelks, they are asked to call 911. They may also contact DoE enforcement officers directly on Grand Cayman (916-4271), on Cayman Brac (call 911) or on Little Cayman (925-0185).

Turtle nesting season runs from 1 May – 30 November. Help us protect these magnificent creatures by doing the following: • Keep lights off at beachside properties unless you have turtle-friendly lighting installed. Nesting and hatchling turtles are disoriented by artificial light and it can lead them into dangerous situations. • Keep beaches clean and clear by picking up litter and moving beach furniture at night so that turtles have plenty of space to find their nesting sites. • Never rake or cover turtle tracks. • No bonfires on the beach without a permit! Bonfires in the vicinity of nests can cause egg and hatchling mortality. • Consult with DoE before bringing vehicles or equipment onto the beach. Eggs under the sand may be crushed if driven over. • Never approach or disturb nesting or mating turtles. Human presence can cause them to abandon nesting/mating attempts. • Report turtle tracks or a turtle in distress to our 24hr Turtle Hotline (938-NEST/938-6378) using WhatsApp with a photograph and location description or pin drop. Turtles and nests are protected at all times under the National Conservation Act (2013) and it is an offence to disturb or harm them. Report any suspicious activity to +1(345)916-4271 or call 911.

The Passport and Corporate Services Office encourages the public to ensure their passports are valid and secured in preparation for the hurricane season. To prepare, persons should: • Check passport expiry date to ensure validity for the dates of travel, • Check that passport is valid based on the country’s entry requirements, • Apply for or renew passports before travel time, • Apply for any necessary visas as required for travel, and • Make copies of passports and key documents and store them in waterproof containers in a place where they can be easily accessed during emergencies. The Department of Labour and Pensions (DLP) advises the public that its Cayman Brac office will operate on reduced hours on select dates between 31 August and 31 December 2026. The Ministry of Planning, Lands, Agriculture, Housing and Infrastructure advises the public that the Northwest Point Boat Ramp in West Bay will be temporarily closed from Wednesday, 16 September, through Friday, 18 September 2026. The closure is necessary to facilitate the removal of loose boulders and other material that have accumulated within the basin following storm events over the years. The boat ramp will be inaccessible throughout the three-day closure, and boat owners who normally use the facility are encouraged to make alternative arrangements. Public access to the boat ramp is expected to resume on Saturday, 19 September 2026. The Ministry and the National Roads Authority thank the public for its patience and cooperation while these important works are undertaken.

Kaibo's boat ramp and parking lot will be temporarily closed from Tuesday, 15 September, through Sunday, 20 September 2026. The closure is necessary to facilitate parking-lot restoration as part of the ongoing improvements at Kaibo Beach. Public access to the boat ramp and parking lot will resume on Monday, 21 September 2026. The Ministry and the National Roads Authority thank the public for its patience and cooperation while these important infrastructure improvements are undertaken.
