Housing, Infrastructure and Environment
Sustainable Physical Development that Prioritises Affordable Housing, Ensures Resilient Infrastructure and Protects Nature
The Cayman Islands Government is focused on delivering sustainable development that addresses the needs of Caymanian families and communities. This includes increasing access to quality, affordable housing, investing in resilient infrastructure, modernising roads and transport systems, maintaining public spaces, and protecting the natural environment for current and future generations.
This Broad Outcome brings together efforts across housing, infrastructure, transport and environmental management to support safe, connected and sustainable communities. It focuses on strengthening community resilience, improving and expanding road networks to reduce congestion and enhance road safety, developing more efficient and reliable public transport options, maintaining and upgrading public spaces, and supporting responsible development. It also includes enhancing critical infrastructure such as air and cargo ports to support connectivity and economic activity.
By taking a balanced and forward-looking approach, Government is working to improve quality of life, support long-term prosperity, and preserve Cayman’s natural environment while building communities that are secure, resilient and fit for the future.
