Finance and Administration Unit
The nature and scope of the Portfolio’s Finance Team is to:
- Control the financial planning and accounting functions of the Portfolio
- Ensures compliance in fulfilling the financial requirements of various laws, acts and regulations and international standards.
- Ensures that all accounting and financial systems of the Portfolio are properly structured and managed in an efficient and timely manner.
- Prepare monthly management reports and accounts for the Chief Officer, Heads of Department and senior management and key stakeholders in the Ministry of Finance.
- Prepare the Portfolio’s Budget in line with the Strategic Policy Statement, including the preparation of forecasted financial statements.
- Preparation of the Portfolio’s Annual Financial Statements, including accompanying schedules and notes
- Maintain up-to-date accounting records, including payments, reconciliations, and subsidiary ledgers to support the general ledger and provide timely, accurate financial information.
- Provide financial advice to the Chief Officer, Heads of Departments and the senior management team.
- Be the primary liaison with the Ministry of Finance, Treasury, Budget and Management Unit and Auditor General’s Office
- Provide oversight of the Entity Procurement Committee (EPC).
